We are approaching the end of our study of Egypt and students had fun this week making their own mummy cases. This was a time for individual creativity to be displayed. Students designed Egyptian coffins, and then filled them with hieroglyphics and symbols.
Besides making mummies, students in periods 2, 4, and 7 also wrote the rough drafts for their persuasive papers. They chose from such topics as what is the best monument to visit, who was the best pharaoh, and what is the best Egyptian achievement. They have worked hard researching, then writing, and it is finally paying off. Next week they will print out their final draft with a bibliography of their sources.
Below are some pictures of student cartouches and students at work.
