Finishing up Egypt

We are almost finished with our study of Egypt. This next week we will discover the ancient kingdoms of Nubia and Kush. These are the kingdoms of the black pharaohs who ruled Egypt at one time. Research is new in this area and discoveries are being made all the time.

After our study of this ancient people, students will be tested over what they know about Egypt and Nubia. That test will be February sixth and then we will start our exploration of Asia.

Students have really enjoyed learning about the Egyptians, but I believe are ready to move on. Asia is different and sometimes a real challenge because it is so unique, but it is one of my favorite subjects to study.
I took some pictures of the students’ outstanding mummy cases. They are all entombed on the wall outside our social studies room.
